« HomeTest GalleryWave 1-6Each wave had 5 packs, with later waves re-packaging more-and-more of the earlier waves' slugs and re-releasing them in different variants and colours ...
Wave 1 is an exciting one where it provides most of the really big-hitters in the first three packs.
The remaining two are a bit less exciting.
Wave 2 carries over 5 slugs from wave 1: Spinner and Bludgeon; and Doc and Stinky's packs are carried over directly into wave 2 and Burpy is repackaged with Bugsy, rather than Joules (which is a shame because I like Joules).
Wave 3 is a complete refresh with nothing being carried over from waves 1 or 2. There are some good, new additions, but some of these packs are expensive to obtain.
Burpy is re-done with a different expression.
Wave 4 was released after the first short movie: Ghoul from Beyond that follows the main series, and before Return of the Elementals, and only re-uses the Hop Jack and Bluster pack from wave 3.
Bludgeon is re-released with a different expression and Burpy is revised again: this time, looking as he does later in the series: after he first uses megamorph.
Wave 5 has one completely new pack, containing Lariat and Fandango.
Makobreaker and Aquabeek (both underwater slugs) appear with repeats from waves 2 and 3.
Meanwhile Slyren and Hexlet are introduced with translucent versions of Chiller and Suds that are intended to be used with the illuminating hero glove.
Wave 6 onward seem to have been released in smaller numbers because examples are very hard to find.
I only spotted this wave when I spotted a pack with a forgesmelter and the translucent thugglet.
As you see, this is mostly re-releases: some in new colours, with Grenuke being the only real new addition.
