Greatest Song of Each Year
What do you think was the best chart record of each year of the 80s? I'll have to do the research to remind myself of everything that was in the charts from 1980-82; but otherwise here goes.1983: Duran Duran - Is There Something I Should Know?1984: Ultravox - Love's Great Adventure1985: Trans-X - Living on Video1986: Cliff Richard & the Young Ones - Living Doll (because I fancied Rik Mayall)1987: Mental as Anything - Live it Up1988: Heart - These Dreams1989: Transvision Vamp - Baby I Don't Care
For the second week in a row, I've completely forgotten about Radio 2's Sounds of the 80s programme, until it was too late!
That's partly because it got changed from Saturdays to Fridays, which got me a bit mixed up; also, my brain-cells are probably dying!

Last night I had a wonderful time at an absolutely fabulous 70s/80s disco. But I need to be punished by Zelda for my disgusting gluttony: when one of my numbers was called, early in the charity raffle, I picked a large tub of Heroes chocs, instead of a charming owl ceramic lamp (the owl was wearing a night-cap, and holding a candle + a hot-water bottle). By the time another of my ticket numbers was called, the owly lamp had gone.
I'm kicking myself now: I mean, I could buy Heroes virtually anywhere.
