Somebody must have noticed my post about Nitter and sent me a very kind email to let me know that Nitter development is alive and well, and giving me some good resources about available instances and forks of the project available on Codeberg.org.

There are over 10 working instances including some Onion (Tor) ones. RSS feeds are available on several of them too.

This will be very handy for researching what goes on over twitter in Japan and other places about Star Fleet without me needing an actual twitter account.

Let me know if you're interested in more info, and I'll be sure to send it your way.

On another note, I saw that Poast, which was the Nitter instance that I used, was attacked shortly after the takedown letters were issued by twitter.
Poast was the only instance to mount a legal defence against the demand.
When the attackers (who, I think we can safely assume, were put up to it by twitter) couldn't do anything to affect Poast's Nitter instance, they went after their site itself and deleted everything that they could there.

I would say that, if you have a twitter account, it may be time to ditch it.
It could have been this site or any other that was erased if it'd been doing anything by chance that got in their way.
